Akira Hasegawa | Digital Kakejiku
Digital Light Projections to be Featured at Cósmico Americas on September 28th in Civic Center Park
Jaguara the Cosmic Messenger is a light sculpture and stage inspired by the deep symbolism and the powerful spirit of the Jaguar, the mighty messenger from the rainforest. As guardian of the American jungles, the Jaguar embodies the wisdom of our ancestors of flowing with life in unity and harmony.
Jaguara will be at Civic Center Park in Denver from September 23rd to September 27th, as a light sculpture accompanied by digital projections inspired on the sounds of earth in space from Japanese digital artist Akira Hasegawa.
Akira Hasegawa invented a “sensitizing instrument”, D-K, which lights up a large area of architectural or natural surroundings with projected random sequences of constantly moving, constantly changing abstract images in colors of great brilliance and clarity which change at a very slow pace...as dawn or the setting sun...D-K Live.
DK has been installed in 450 places for the past decade, starting at Parthenon, Greece, and other World Heritage sights in many countries. For the Biennial of the Americas 2019, Jaguara has invited Akira as a special guest and will be live streaming his beautiful DK project with more than one million images created over the last 24 years directly from Japan!
We are extremely honored to have Akira’s beautiful artwork as part of Jaguara’s installation at the park since our intention is to call upon citizens from all over the world to become aware of the importance of preserving the rainforests and the relevance this has for the future of our home planet earth.
Having Akira at the Biennial of the Americas is a wonderful gift and message about collaboration across continents to bring this important message to modern society in a beautiful and powerful way.
