María José Monge Picado (Costa Rica, 1977) is a doctoral student in the Latin American Studies program with an emphasis on Central American Thought, at the School of Philosophy of the National University; Master in Anthropology and Bachelor in Art History from the University of Costa Rica. Since 2002, she has been linked in different ways to museum work and curatorial work, in institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, the Museum of Costa Rican Art and the Museums of the Central Bank, where she works as a curator of visual arts. since 2013. He has taught in the Photography Course at Veritas University. He frequently publishes essays on contemporary Costa Rican art in specialized magazines and catalogues. He is the Aquileo J. Echeverría National Culture Prize in Essay.
