Roundtable Series: Roots & Routes: Asian Diaspora in the Americas

The Biennial of the Americas Roundtable Series is a monthly gathering of leaders from business, civic, and cultural sectors to explore timely and provocative topics that shape the Americas. This series fosters meaningful dialogue, bringing together diverse perspectives to examine histories, policies, and lived experiences that continue to shape our communities.

The March 2025 roundtable will explore the experiences of Asian diasporic communities in the Americas, with a focus on leadership, identity, and belonging. From the long history of Asian migration to contemporary voices shaping business, culture, and civic life, this discussion will highlight both historical struggles and present-day achievements.

Historian and author Diego Luis Javier will provide opening remarks, offering historical context on Asian migration, exclusionary policies, and resilience across the Americas. Following his remarks, the conversation will turn to local Asian leaders in Colorado, who will share their perspectives on:

  • The ways their heritage informs their leadership and work.

  • The challenges and opportunities they face as Asian professionals and community advocates.

  • How they navigate identity and belonging in the broader fabric of American society.

  • The importance of representation, solidarity, and cross-cultural collaboration.

This roundtable is an opportunity to honor the histories, voices, and contributions of Asian communities in Colorado and beyond while fostering meaningful connections between leaders across sectors. Join us for an afternoon of reflection, dialogue, and community-building.
