Agustina Comas

Agustina graduated in 2003 from Centro de Diseño Industrial (EUCD-FADU) in Montevideo – Uruguay. In 2004 she moved to São Paulo. She’s been working with upcycling since 2008 with the method for creating and producing garments out of surplus stocks, developed in partnership with designer Ana Inés Piriz in the brand IN.USE. In 2005 she created Comas, a womenswear brand that uses as raw material men shirts and leftovers from textile and manufacturing industries in Brazil. She is a consultant for brands, factories and productive groups and gives workshops and lectures teaching the method for product development that is used at Comas. Between 2008 and 2013 she was a menswear designer at Daslu. Between 2004 and 2008 she worked for designer Jum Nakao in different projects, among them the show “A Costura do Invisível” presented at SPFW 2004 and as a menswear designer at the brand Guga Kuerten.
