Eugene Howard
Eugene Howard is a Senior City Planner with Denver’s Community Planning and Development. As a member of the Neighborhoods Planning Team, Eugene manages the development of area plans for the Neighborhood Planning Initiative. Eugene’s current project is the West Area Plan, a citizen-driven planning effort on the topics of zoning, land use, multimodal transportation, quality-of-life infrastructure, natural systems (parks, open space, waterways, etc.), affordable housing, socio-economic development, cultural inclusion and equity. Eugene first discovered planning as a profession while serving on the board of his neighborhood association. He is an avid supporter of transit, transit-oriented development, architecture, design and strategic brand development, his previous career. In his spare time, Eugene is an adjunct professor for the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning. He serves on several boards and associations and is a husband, father, gardener and loves electronic dance music and good food.
