Lindsay Firestone
Lindsay Firestone manages Bloomberg Philanthropies' film efforts, including partnerships with leading filmmakers, film festivals and media non-profits, and supports storytelling that generates awareness and drives social impact. In this role, she manages content for select projects on behalf of the foundation, including the recent National Geographic Documentary Films feature, Paris to Pittsburgh, which highlights city, state and citizen efforts to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement to fight climate change, grow the economy and protect public health. Lindsay led the development of the foundation’s first feature documentary, From the Ashes, which was directed by Michael Bonfiglio and produced in partnership with RadicalMedia. The film premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival and released theatrically and via global broadcast by National Geographic Documentary Films. As part of the outreach effort, Lindsay helped orchestrate a worldwide campaign that screened the film with mayors, local activists, and students in an effort to educate and engage audiences on opportunities in renewable energy and just transition efforts.
Lindsay also oversees Bloomberg Philanthropies’ grant support for film projects, and served as an advisor on STEP, which was directed by Amanda Lipitz and won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Inspirational Filmmaking at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. In addition to managing film efforts for the foundation, Lindsay works on the Media & Digital Strategies team at Bloomberg Associates, a pro-bono international consulting service founded by Mike Bloomberg, where she works with client cities to grow and develop their media and digital sectors through the lens of public communication and economic development.
Previously, Lindsay worked for PMK*BNC, a marketing and communications firm at the intersection of film and new media. Representing independent and studio films, writers, directors, producers and arts non-profits, she advised clients on strategic communication efforts to maximize exposure and demand. During this time, she championed the successful launch of the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, an arts and technology incubator developed as a public-private partnership between the City of New York and the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP). Originally from Tampa, Florida, Lindsay is a graduate of NYU.
