Sebastian Torrealba
Sebastián is a political scientist by profession and has an MBA from the Adolfo Ibañez University. He represents Santiago in Chile’s House of Representatives and is a member of the Environmental and Science and Technology Commission. He is well known for the various legislation he has presented on the environment such as the “Responsible Access to the Mountains,” and ”Environmental Impact Evaluation Service,” bills among many others. His outstanding work has led him to be appointed as this year’s Presidential Delegate for the widely known environmental event, COP25, which will be held in Chile.
As a counselor for the commune of Lo Barnechea, where he served for two periods, he promoted the first outdoor mapping of Chile. Additionally, he started the “First Outdoor Mountain Strategy,” the first infrastructure projects to bring citizens closer to the mountains, which are an invaluable asset to the country.
He is a huge outdoor sports fan and is obsessed with the idea of Chileans opening up to enjoy the great outdoors that the country has to offer. Additionally, Sebastian is focused on promoting climate action through an environmental donation law that will create funding for initiatives to combat climate change.
