Cyrielle Noël

Cyrielle is one of only a few North American marine spatial planners. She serves as a thought leader promoting both a paradigm shift to spatial planning within North America and advancing her conceptual innovation: blue public space. Her roots in Tiohtiá:ke (Montréal), a river island have enriched her viewpoint as a soulful thalassophile. She believes that urban challenges can be mediation through careful observation and understanding of the reciprocal relationship between humans and the environment. She is employed by the Canadian Government where she works on the electrification of transportation networks. Cyrielle is an enterprising environmental interdisciplinarian who moonlights as a social entrepreneur.
As the founder of Eau daCité, Cyrielle drives the mission to reconnect cities, citizens, and companies to the original source of urbanization -waterways, by having the audacity to put waterways first in the context of sustainable development. Additionally, she enjoys volunteering with the Global Shapers and is a board member of the Foundation of Environmental Stewardship. For her impact, she was featured on the Corporate Knights’ 30 under 30 list and was a recipient of the CBC’s Black Changemaker award. In her spare time, Cyrielle enjoys connecting to nature by recreating outdoors. She enjoys snowboarding, caving, and fishing.
