Ms. Gina Diez Barroso is a successful businesswoman, entrepreneur and philanthropist, with more than 30 years of experience, committed to the development of design and innovation projects, to the improvement of creative education, and the development and career advancement of women.
She is the Founder and President of Dalia Empower, a lifelong learning global project dedicated to support women in reaching their personal and professional goals; and of Grupo Diarq, one of the leading international design, architecture and real estate development companies in Mexico – with 8 subsidiary companies, more than 600 employees, and with offices in Mexico and United States. She is also the Founder of Centro University, the leading university in Mexico focused exclusively on creative studies, with a strong emphasis on business and entrepreneurship (it currently has more than 3,000 students and offers 7 B.A´s, 20 master degrees and more than 200 courses). With her commitment to philanthropy, 28 ago she started Diarq Foundation, dedicated to eradicating domestic violence and bullying in schools; and the Pro-Educacion CENTRO Foundation, which grants merit-based scholarships to students in creative studies.
Ms. Diez Barroso is an active board member of several companies (Santander Global, Universia, ASCOA) and an advisor for numerous international and national organizations. She is the representative of Mexico at the W20 - the women initiative of the G20 - and she was also appointed Mexico’s private sector representative to EMPOWER, an initiative that reports directly to the G20. She is a member of WPO (Women President Organization) and the only Latin American member of C200 (200 Women Business Leaders of the World) and the Global Women Business Leadership Organization. She is an enthusiastic business and motivational lecturer, having spoken at numerous business schools and other venues across the United States, Latin America and Europe. She has been the recipient of various national and international awards, including the Gold Medal, maximum honour awarded by the American Society Council of the Americas (2019).
