Eduard's resolute commitment to reshaping education prompted the establishment of the University for International Cooperation in 1994, where he presently is Rector and President. Based in San Jose, Costa Rica, this globally impactful institution pioneers transdisciplinary programs for sustainable development and online education, a groundbreaking move for graduate studies in 1996.
Presently, Eduard is a leading proponent of regenerative development, rooted in the Planetary Boundaries Approach. His transdisciplinary approach tackles global challenges by harmonizing economic, social, cultural, political, environmental, and spiritual realms. Notably, in July 2018, he spearheaded the Regenerate Costa Rica initiative, uniting over 40 international and national partners. His efforts also encompass strategic alliances with prominent organizations like Capital Institute and Doughnut Economics Action Lab.
With four-decade career spanning five continents, Eduard excels in higher education, climate communication, nature conservation, regenerative tourism, and more. He's held influential roles in wildlife management, IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, UNESCO's MAB International Advisory Committee for Biosphere Reserves, and agricultural and environmental projects. Spiritual and empathetic, he collaborates closely with Earth Charter.
Eduard holds key positions including INBAR's board of trustees, the advisory council for Adopt a Meter, and WEAll's Global Council. He's been lauded with distinctions, including Goodwill Ambassador to La Palma Biosphere Reserve and the "30 Years of Democracy" Medal from Argentina's National Congress. A gifted nature photographer, he balances his pursuits with creative expression.
