Culture Club Member Event
For this week’s CultureHop, Culture Club Members will be hopping over to Raquelitas Tortillas for a special behind the scenes tour. Raquelitas Tortillas is a staple of Denver’s culinary scene known for its high-quality, locally made tortillas. We will learn about their production process, sustainability efforts, and the rich history behind this family-owned business.
About the business: We're Colorado’s first, original tortilla factory, rooted in tradition since 1960. We’re committed to sustainability, using 100% wind and solar power, and recycling 95% of our food processing waste. Our tortillas and chips are crafted with locally sourced ingredients, supporting Colorado's farmers and the local economy. From classic options to unique flavors like Pueblo Green Chile, Bison Tallow, and Hibiscus, our products offer a superior taste and texture that elevate any dish. Still family owned and operated, we blend tradition with innovation to bring you the best tortillas and chips you’ll ever taste. We exist, still after 60 years, with only one goal. We don't have any interest at being the biggest tortilla maker - simply the best.
About CultureHop:
The Biennial of the Americas' CultureHop program is designed to bring Culture Club members closer to the vibrant art and cultural scenes across the Americas right here in Denver. CultureHop invites participants to join curated Friday morning tours of artist studios, galleries, museums, and cultural spaces. Each week, members will "hop" between different creative venues, offering them an intimate and behind-the-scenes experience with local artists, curators, and cultural leaders. Meetups will feature coffee and pastries from local coffee shops.
The program provides a unique opportunity to engage with local artists, spaces and galleries to explore diverse cultural expressions, and foster meaningful connections within the arts community. It's a great way for art enthusiasts and cultural explorers to stay connected to the creative pulse of Denver and build greater appreciation for the Americas.
