Jeroen Koolhaas

The Biennial of the Americas is thrilled to be partnering with RiNo, River North Art District to bring artist Jeroen Koolhaas and his visually stunning outdoor work to CRUSH WALLS this September. Jeroen is best known for his amazing and impactful community art Favela Painting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in which he enlisted the help of local residents to plaster their neighborhoods and walls with bright, vibrant colors.

Favela Painting builds bridges between community art, urban planning and social design, creating multi faceted social impact with a lasting legacy. Over the years, Favela Painting has become a creative laboratory implementing art to unite, empower and contribute to an inclusive world.
