Rafael Micha M Sc. serves as Chief Marketing Officer (public relations, sales, and marketing) and is Managing Partner at Grupo HABITA which owns and/or manages Baja Club Hotel, CONDESAdf, HABITA Monterrey, Casa HABITA, La Purificadora, Hotel Habita, all lifestyle hotels in MEXICO. Based in Mexico City, Micha is part of the team behind GRUPO HABITA's powerhouse hospitality brands, all renowned globally for their architecture and interior design, and including the first lifestyle and design hotel in Mexico City and Latinamerica: Hotel Habita. He currently oversees branding, marketing, and communications strategies, and press campaigns for the all properties: Hotel Habita and Condesadf, DOWNTOWN Mexico and Círculo Mexicano in Mexico City and HABITA Monterrey and La Purificadora in Puebla. Right now he is devoted to showcasing Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca as a winter break / surfers’ paradise and destination in Mexico since the opening of Hotel Escondido December 2015 and 2020 ESCONDIDO OAXACA in the state’s capital and now TERRESTRE. Brand new also Círculo Mexicano, Grupo HABITA’s second hotel in Mexico City’s historic district. He is also the liaison to VIPs and international media in all hotels and has engaged the visits and stays of the likes of Madonna, Kim Kardashian-West, Katy Perry, Bono, Viggo Mortensen, Doutzen Kroes, Paris Hilton, Salma Hayek, Chris Martin, Hugh Jackman, and many other celebrities. Also important contemporary artists like Shirin Nesat, Gabriel Orozco, the Campana Brothers, and internationally renowned architects like Wolf Prix, Richard Meier, et al. Micha is part of museum boards in Mexico and deeply involved in the contemporary art scene. Since 2021 he participates in the Condé Nast Vogue Digital Marketing Diploma now with its 4th generation of alumni.
He also oversees all future projects for Grupo Habita, their corporate parent which as of the 2022 included Downtown Mexico hotel in Mexico City, and since December 2016 The Robey Chicago. In March 2021 Grupo Habita opened Baja Club Hotel in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico and February 2022 TERRESTRE in Puerto Escondido.
With a master's degree in International Relations from The London School of Economics, Micha has helped with image and brand creation of 15 hotels and create unique and individual distinct identities for each hotel, restaurant, and lounge in the portfolio, and has garnered press in publications such as Wallpaper*, Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler, The New York Times and Travel + Leisure, MONOCLE, Hotel & Lodge, among many others internationally. Each property has been designed uniquely, with architecture and interior design by luminaries including Enrique Norten from TEN Arquitectos; India Mahdavi, Victor and Ricardo Legorreta, Javier Sanchez, Joseph Dirand, DIMORESTUDIO and recently with JAUNE and TAX Alberto Kalach.
